  • OUR PARTNERS

Members of The Coral Reef Aquarium Fisheries Campaign convene with IndoReefFish partners in Indonesia.

The Coral Reef Aquarium Fisheries Campaign is driven by our partnerships with leaders in coral reef aquarium fish conservation.

Founded by Dr. Paul Anderson, a fisheries biologist, aquaculturist, educator, and certified project manager, the Campaign's growth and direction is guided by Insight by Anderson, LLC, a charitable organization registered with the State of Connecticut.

The Campaign was established at Mystic Aquarium, whose mission is to to inspire people to care for and protect our ocean planet through conservation, education, and research.  The Campaign is honored to partner with Mystic in educating marine aquarium fishers on best practices in fish care, handling, and transport.

Shedd Aquarium is championing the cause of  ethical acquisitions for the global public aquarium and zoo community.  The Campaign is proud to partner with Shedd on developing a model of sustainable sourcing of aquarium fish in Indonesia through our partnership program, IndoReefFish.

Absolutely Fish is a marine aquarium fish store, aquarium maintenance service, and aquaculture facility.  Conservation and education are at the center of its business.  Absolutely Fish routinely offers educational programming to the marine aquarium industry and is active in arenas seeking to advance sustainable trade.

LINI conducts capacity building for Indonesian marine aquarium fisheries, the 2nd largest global fishery for the marine aquarium trade.  They teach techniques and best practices in fish collecting, transport, and aquaculture, while facilitating dialogues across the value chain--among fishers, traders, and exporters.

Rare builds capacity for sustainable small-scale fisheries across the globe through its Fish Forever program, using a human behavior-centered approach.  The Campaign is incorporating Rare's proven strategies to advance sustainable marine aquarium fisheries in Indonesia with their partnership.

Campaign Director Dr. Paul Anderson is honored to hold a courtesy appointment as a Research Scientist with the University of Connecticut's Department of Marine Sciences.  Through this relationship, UConn's research infrastructure has empowered the Campaign's achievement of its research objectives.

The Campaign is honored to be designated as a highlighted program of the Association of Zoos and Aquarium's Marine Fishes Taxon Advisory Group, working together to advance responsible collection and management of marine aquarium fishes on exhibit at public aquaria and zoos nationwide.
